Hi, I’m Chang Liu, a licensed independent social worker (LICSW) with over 12 years of experience in mental health research and clinical practice. I grew up in China and moved to the U.S. in 2010 to pursue graduate studies, earning both my Master’s and Ph.D. in Social Work-clinical mental health track-from The Ohio State University.
I specialize in working with children, parents, and young adults, providing culturally sensitive mental health support to Chinese and Asian populations. My expertise includes treating anxiety, OCD, life stress, sleep issues, disruptive behaviors, and providing parent training.
A significant part of my career has been spent in children’s hospitals and healthcare settings, where I worked alongside multidisciplinary teams to support children and families facing complex emotional and behavioral challenges. These experiences have strengthened my ability to work with families in crisis and reinforced my commitment to trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy. I’m passionate about creating a supportive, engaging, and culturally responsive therapy space where individuals and families can find healing and personal growth.
Beyond my work, I’m someone who loves embracing little joys in life. You’ll often find me in my garden, getting my hands dirty while tending to my plants, or off on an adventure, traveling to new places and experiencing different cultures. I have a passion for trying new foods—whether it’s a hidden gem in town or a dish I’ve never cooked before!
At home, I cherish spending time with my family, my baby boy, and my furry friends—a dog, two cats and several chickens who keep my life interesting. I also enjoy unwinding through drawing and crafting, letting creativity flow in different ways. For me, life is all about exploration, connection, and finding beauty in both the big and small moments.
